Staff Profiles
Jeri Beth Dettinger, EA:
Jeri is the founder of J-tax-S. Jeri is also an Enrolled Agent(EA). She passed her EA exam in 2004. She is a member of NATP. Prior to earning her EA so worked for a national tax firm for 5 years. After becoming an EA she worked for two years for a CPA. She then decided it was time to start her own business which had been her dream all along. She just wanted to make sure she had enough experience to offer quality services.
Growing up in Dallastown, both Jeri’s father and grandfather owned businesses where she got hands-on experience learning bookkeeping, customer service, and how to run a successful business. Before starting J-tax-S, Jeri continued learning and advancing herself through different jobs. Overall, she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and did payroll for several other companies. Over the years, Jeri has accumulated firsthand knowledge in small business areas such as construction, auto sales & repair, small retail specialty stores (IE- craft, musical instruments, appliances, carpeting, etc.), direct sales, and service businesses. This wealth of knowledge proves to be an invaluable resource to many who need advice on record keeping, business planning and structure, etc.
Since starting in 2005, Jeri has had to add several more staff members in order to better serve clients. Everyone still reports back to Jeri.

Caitlyn:
Caitlyn is Jeri’s daughter, she grew up in the office while being homeschooled. Many of our clients have seen her grow up and are excited to see her each tax season. At the end of 2018 she became Partner in the business. In 2019, Caitlyn learned bookkeeping and is now able to handle our variety of bookkeeping & payroll clients. She helps with data entry and receptionist duties, as needed. She is also a notary public and is the most knowledgeable of our staff on DMV side of the business.

Zach:
Zach joined the company in 2023. Zach has an accounting degree and is helping with bookkeeping and payroll as needed. He will be taking continuing education each year and will be improving his knowledge in tax preparation. As he becomes more educated and Jeri is confident of his capabilities he will start taking on more difficult returns, as preparing accurate returns is a priority. He has already exceeded Jeri’s expectations on basic returns and will be preparing many of those returns this tax season. He has become a part of our team and fits right in with us.
Scarlett:
Caitlyn’s daughter believes she is the one in control of the office! 😉 You will continue to see her growing up in the office in the coming years. She is very strong willed and isn’t afraid to tell you how it is.
Emmett:
Emmett is the another young member of the J-tax-S family. This sweet little guy is mostly always happy and bringing a smile to everyone’s face. He loves being helpful when something needs done.
Patrick:
Patrick is our latest addition to the J-tax-S family and is Caitlyn’s 3rd child. You probably won’t see much of him this tax season but he will be around and you many get lucky to see him or hear him.
